It would be hard but...
Title: Tanks A Lot
Difficulty: Difficulty starts out easy, but gets harder.
Discription: This is somewhat a remake of the tanks game on the Wii Play video game on the Nintendo Wii. It has the same basic concept. Here's a edited quote from Wikipedia of the real game:
Wikipedia wrote:
In this game, the player controls a small toy tank to destroy enemy tanks in a two-and-a-half-dimensional wooden toy block environment. Tanks can fire shells and/or lay mines. All tanks, including the player's, will be destroyed when hit by a single shell or mine. The aim of the game is to destroy all enemy tanks while avoiding their attacks. When this is achieved, play advances to the next "mission" (i.e. level), which will have a different combination of enemy tank types and a differently laid-out block environment. This game does not offer continuation when game over.
The mouse as a pointing device is used for controlling the crosshair for firing shells.
In single-player mode, the player begins with three lives ("tanks") and is awarded an extra life every 5 completed levels. When the player dies with unused lives, play is resumed mid-play (i.e. destroyed enemy tanks are not replaced), except start positions are reset. The first time you complete mission 20, game is over (with a "Mission Completed" message). Thereafter, however, 100 missions are available for progression.
There are three types of shells in this game: basic shells, rocket shells, and power shells (very dangerous). The first is slow moving and will rebound off wall surfaces once, while the second moves very quickly and has no rebound, and the third moves even faster and rebounds twice.
Optional- Here is a screenshot from the real game:
Hmm well I also wanted to do the idea ...sometime...in my life... BEFORE I DIE! Maybe we can collaborate if you want, or you can solo I don't mind I'm fine with whatever decision; it might be too hard for me anyway, or because of schedule...
of course I'd have to finish my other project first

Hmm... Ok, I'll go solo until I need your help.
But before I start, can anybody make a 3D tank sprite with the spinning top and put it in a project? (Yes, I'm planning on it being 3D. )
EDIT: Please make the spinning top (I think it's called a turret?) follow the mouse pointer. Thanks!

Wouldn't you have to render the base of the tank in like, how many angles? 180? And then do just the top of the tank in 180 to? And then make the bottom move according to how the arrow keys move, but how would you know which image to program to go to next? Because if you were are a 70 degrees angle and you wanted to turn 30 degrees, how would you calculate that? And what about the shading and lighting? Especially the cast shadow . You wouldn't want just one color under your tank. You'd want it somewhat transparent, but you can't do that with 3D models put into 2D images, unless you want to be a few months older when you might be done.
ANYWAY after all that rambling I made some quick screenshots of a quick tank I made. Sorry I couldn't soften/smooth it or add the plastic specular; I don't have that software >.< lol. I also forgot to color under the tank's turret. I think the specular on it right now is a little bright. Lol it all sucks but you get the concept...
Btw, what are your impressions of it?
First image was rendered the best (most AA).
EDIT: Oops lol I think the tanks are floating >.<
You can't just spin an image for the mouse pointer because of the angle. See the screenshot on my earlier post? It's not exactly overhead, its like between a side and top view, which would need a bunch of rendered frames, not just a spinning sprite
Any ideas?

Ok I'll work on it right now...
But I'm still confused about the turret then.
How would you? Idk lol...

Wait do you want it on this angle?
Or do you want it completely overhead?
Or slightly overhead?
Or sideview? lol
Or lower down than what it already is?
NOTE: I did not AA it so it doesn't look as good as it should :p

Oh well I'll try it anyways! I'll upload it tonight or tomorrow.. with movement! lol
Though maybe not the turret

Thanks to everyone working on this project.
Note to Ludichris1: Please make your tank green, and the enemy tank gray. (Oh, and you can keep the angle like that. )

Well, I don't know if I'd have the time and perseverance, DaGamezStudio, lol. I feel like I have ADD or something lol
ANYWAY, updates on the tank:
1. I was trying to do movement (Up, Left, Right, Down, Upleft, Upright, Downleft, Downright), but I couldn't get the upleft, upright, downleft and downright movement right. Because even though you go the right direction when both keys are pressed (showing it works), it also shows the sprite for pressing the first key. I then tried having a broadcast instead of whenkeypressed (broadcasting from Whengreenflagclicked), and then it didn't move at all for some reason (this is using the <>and<> command, etc.), so I'm sorry I can't do the movement I said I would XP.
2. I hope the sprites are right. I made a grey and green one like you said. When I upload the project you will be able to change the sprite sizes to your liking. Oh, another problem is that each 3D model was rendered into a 2D image right? Well, since it is now 2D rather than 3D, the image has white around it. If you fill it there is still some residue of white variations left over on the tank; I don't know how to fix it. Maybe you color it? Might take awhile and take away the 3Dness
3. I also could not make the turret follow the pointer; I am not skilled enough lol >.<
4. The turret and tank move in only 8 directions, sorry
5. lol you might be guessing how many numbers are there left by now XD
Basically all I did was make the sprites in all their scratchy form. Sorry, I'm only a beginner 3D modeller (a few days, lol), and I'm not really experienced with Scratch >.<
But at least me the noob made a tank for you to use
I'll upload the project pretty soon I'm almost done with the sprites...

Cool! Dudes, wanna start a company? Our first game can be the Tank one.
Depends. It would be great to have a company, because Ludichris could draw, you could script, and I could add pretty much anything you guys didn't add.
But theres a bunch of downsides too... like... I dunno... I can't think of any.

Ok, but DaGamez is also scripting, so whichever one is better, we'll use it.

Lol I can think of some:
1. People might not be interested in eachother's projects, and therefore prefer to work on their own.
2. People might not like the pressure.
3. People might not have the perseverance.
4. People might feel like (or are) they don't have the needed skills.
etc. XD
I don't know really yet about a company... maybe lol

Problems of making a company:
1. Laziness. (Lol. )
2. Quitting Company.
3. Glitches (Oh great.)
4. Thinking of a name. (I'm out of ideas here.)
5. (See, this is what I mean by laziness.)

Hmm... I think I could make the background image and the wooden shapes that surround it as barriers. But idk about the actual blocks in the gaming area xD
