to make a custom block, go to scratch. shift click the r in scratch. click ''turn fill screen off''. get a block. alt click the letters on the block. keep clicking until it says string. then click the red page picture. scroll down to contents. change text to what you want to call the block.keep the brackets. now, click the -. x out. pick up your block. voila! you have your own personal block!

erm.. there are already too many (more than one) of these tutorials out there, you're not supposed to post threads that have been posted before. Also, this is lacking serious depth I'm afraid. I am familiar with the smalltalk browser and don't know exactly what your on about without reading it through several times... then I still don't know. Are you on about obselete blocks? you can't go from "turn fill screen off" to "find a block", you need to follow a path!
