What happened? Where can I get a pico board? why did you change it? how much does it cost? what's the difference? I was savving up for a scratch board but now you tell me that there's this weird new thing called a pico board instead? AHHHH I'M IN PANNIC MODE!!!!!

Relax...take deep breaths...okay. Here is what I have heard: The Pico board is pretty much the same as a Scratch board only it is made by a different company and it costs more. The Scratch project could no longer keep up with demand or afford to make and sell the Scratch board so they contracted with the Pico company.
I am having trouble locating ordering information...it used to be on the front page but now I don't see it. Anybody know where it went?

I know. Check all the posts made by Lutz, a few have the ordering site in them. If I find it i will post it so you can see!

This is the order form:

A little more support from the Scratch team to tell us what the new PICOboard is/was (i now know it is the same as the Scratch board) or how to order it would have been useful...

So if it is exactly the same why pay more for it?
They used to have volunteers assemble the boards, now another company is making them, so they have hired workers, who need money as opposed to a volunteer. I had been planning on getting one, but now I changed my mind since it is nearly twice what it was.

Why did they even do this (switcing copaines?)

Bluestribute: From millner's post in another thread: "The Scratch Board was subsidized by the Lifelong Kindergarten group at MIT, and thus it could be sold at a lower price. Unfortunately, that approach was not sustainable for the long term. The MIT Scratch Team decided it was better to rely on outside groups (such as PICO) for production and distribution of sensor boards that work with Scratch."

I get it. The lack of the volunteers. Lack of funds. O.K. thanks
