It would be cool if there was a curator, and a curator who curates TAGS.
You know how when you search something like "Pizza" and one of the results is "Projects tagged with Pizza"? Someone could curate that page, and combined with AddZero's (?) FaveTags, this could be better than love it's and views.
It would look like this:

Ok, let me make sure I understand what you're suggesting:
A curator can put a particular tag on the front page.
So if if the curator likes "racecar" projects he/she can show the top three "racecar" projects from this page, on the front page?
Or can the curator pick 3 projects in that category to show on the front page?
Good thoughts! Nice Illustration. Thanks for mentioning FaveTags.
I think the essence of your suggestion is covered in FaveTags already.
Part of what FaveTags is tring to fix is making Tags more relevant so people can find the types of projects he/she likes and collaborate with others that have similar interests.
The whole community can be like a curator for each of the tags he/she likes. A project can be promoted/VOTED in tags that describes it, and voted down on tags that don't.
So the front page becomes less important, because scratchers would spend more time in the tags they like. Perhaps the front page could suggest other projects based on tags you assign projects... if you like "racecar" projects, you'll see "racecar" projects... and people that only like "doll dress up" won't.
So I think more scratchers would be happy with the front page if it was customized with types of projects they like, as voted by the entire community, instead of what one curator likes.
(Projects can have multiple tags, so users can easily jump to all the Tag communities that like that project. i.e. "game, racecar, trigonometry, 3d art, explosions, techno music")

Good points.
The point of this was so that the curator would be able to show people some projects that relate to eachother, sorta like SDS (Scratch Design Studio) but people won't make projects specifically to get on the front page. People will have tagged projects with that to get under the specific tagged catagory, and like I was saying, combined with FaveTags, it will be ultimate. Sorry if this is confusing. I know you were trying to tell customization is the key, but there should be an element of surprise and discovery.

I do think it is a great idea, but I am afraid that there may be people tagging project with that tag just to get on the front page. Which is what makes Favetags such a great idea. I support if it can be combined with favetags

I was thinking about that. Maybe the Scratch Team will combine AddZero and I's ideas and add them to Scratch 2.0
