Make gifs work! D:<
I spent a really, really long time animating a GIF sprite for Scratch, only to try to import the sprite into Scratch and have it be a one-frame thing instead of importing all of the frames as costumes. I had to save each frame individually. That wasn't fun. =.=
So, before going on to URL blocks or even multiplayer blocks... can someone do something as simple as making GIFs work?

It already does most of the time. Could you upload the image and post it with [img] tags? I could make it work for you.

I agree 100%. It's not convenient to have animated GIFs work only as backgrounds, either. Sometimes, they need to be sprites. I know that Scratch is an animation program, but some people prefer to animate in other programs, or have animated GIFs that they'd like to put up. It's not at all clear how to import a GIF into Scratch. In fact, I didn't know until today, when Penguin explained it to me. I'm also slightly disappointed that it only imports the frames, although that doesn't really matter, because you might want to change the timing. I really hope that someone keeps this in mind, because my computer doesn't have space for me to save each frame separately, and I know I'm not the only one.

None of them work for me as sprites, I've tried it with other ones in the past. (It'd probably be a pain for both of us to make you fix every single animation. xD I animate a lot.)

I think if you drag the gif into the costume list every frame becomes a new costume. Not sure though, I haven't used Scratch in a long time.

Oooh! Something to explain! You can't really import animated GIFs through the "New Sprite" function; only through the "Import" function in the costumes tab. Explanation over.

Yep, that's correct
Does this solve your problem?
