I've been thinking: You know how you have the most viewed lately? Well, it is pretty hard to not be getting views if you're on the front page. But what if you also had a least views? Than, projects with no views lately would be getting publicity. They would be on the front page, and who knows, maybe get on the top loved? Just an idea that would be hard to make but benefit everyone I think

That's actually a good idea. But hundreds of projects have 0 views.

That is a very interesting idea. Observing and documenting the results would make a great experimental project for an MIT grad student.
Since hundreds of projects have 0 views, the system could initially select among that set on a random basis and feature them on the front page with a "See More" arrow that exposes the rest of them.
As soon as someone viewed one of them, that one would no longer qualify as least viewed, so it would disappear from the list.
Soon, all of the projects with 0 views would be moved into a category of projects with 1 view. Then every new project, which would initially have 0 views, would spend some time at the top of the "least viewed" list and occupy a preferred position on the front page.
Over time, as Bluestribute suggests, projects would gradually move up the "viewed tree." Even the projects that are not so exciting would probably move up the tree because some scratcher would view them just to knock them off the front page.
As those projects get viewed, a few may stand out, be mentioned in the forums, get lots and lots of views, shoot to the top, and become a superstar. That would be an interesting real-world analogy to the old game of Life.
Great idea Bluestribute.

Great Idea! I actually think this is great. One thing though, lets make it so that it has to be on the site for a day, so all of the new projects don't just get on it.

Yeah. It'd be like (maybe to follow the top loved guidelines and stuff, on for 4 days) and at least 1 day on

It would need to be less than 3 views because the creator is likely to view the project almost instantaneously. By the way I think this is a great idea and I agree.

Yeah, it's a pretty good idea. But it'd have to be on the site a bit more, I think. Maybe two or three days.

I don't agree because I think there is too many projects that would qualify to be under this list. Sooooooo many projects have under 10 views.

Yes, but then it would slowly bring those projects up views because everyone would look at some at one point or another.

this could be a good idea but i think the least viewed projects should updated often eg daily so they dont stay on too long. (it could even replace surprise projects)

The only downside to this is most projects that arent viewed often are usually not the best/not interesting. Anything that looks interesting right when you put it on the site usually gets 3-10 views. Maybe if we did a top loved/views ratio list. If a project had 3 views and 3 love its it might get on for example. One with 20 views and 3 love its it wouldnt.

actually no, that sounds good, but all it will be is something like surprise projects where a random project will pop up, there are so many projects with only 1 view so it would be up the machine to randomly decide what pops up, it sounded great, but the truth is it won't work out as planned

IT'd have to be on for X amount of days and than gets randomly picked for front page until X amount of views or love-it's happen.
Or something like that
