but don't do that, it's making a mockery of the forum system and we might get a ban for the blocks on this site. Seriosly, don't do it. It's not as if it's even the views that give it it's place in the list!

RE: pitch
Hi guys,
a while ago a made an experimental pitch/note sensor reporter for Scratch. It was still Scratch 1.3 at the time, so you might want to adjust some code accordingly. Please feel free to use any of my pitch / note sensing changeset for Panther.

Yes, we have enough views on this thread right now, without people using blocks to boost it. we don't really need that. Come to think of it, one of the first things I did with the file blocks was to create a forum notifier, so that was a couple of hours worth of pageviews.... didn't know it counted them as views at the time.
Panther can do that? I'm probably gonna get it. No, I am gonna get it.
The blocks in panther which check webpages, if you put that in a forever block which checks the length of the webpage then its looking at that page about a hundred time a minute (Probably more) its boosting the views up like mad.
Well, that won't make too much of a differernce in this topic. 20,000+ views. Insane.

I think you guys are slightly missing the point. What matters about robot pinging the forum isn't how high your count gets [you children are SOOO competitive!] but rather the load you're placing on the servers. That's what'll annoy the Scratch Team, if anything.

I have added the pitch block to my version of Panther. It is ok, but it would have to be released in 1.1 to work as it changes a few bits of code. I also had the problem that as of the version diffrenced the blocks got changed (soon fixed though)...

I kinda figured that out. Also, if you left it going for 100 minutes it could get you over 10,000 posts. Thats a big impact.

Yeah, I don't think anyone in the team does that anymore, so if its sky rocketing again, it probably a user.

Anyway, there's an official correct solution to the underlying problem (notification), namely RSS. You guys should get the Scratch Team to offer RSS feeds from forum threads, and then write an RSS client in Panther.

RSS was removed because it slowed the system down to much.

Yeah. I mean, Panther is one of the biggest mods out there.

Honestly, I think it deserves a sticky because it is a perfect example to set for other modders out there.

Hmmmm... its an example, but we don't really talk about how we made it that much, its sort of like a story in a way, but starts off with just block suggestions!

Not for the Panther team but everyone else:
I have made the:
make file $String$
make file $String$ in $String$
blocks. I can post the code if wanted.
