Help!

Please help!My Aunt Nan gave me her computer, running windows 98.I would like to do scratch on it so i grabbed a CD and writ scratch 1.2.1.(the only version of scratch that runs on Win 98)to it and put it in the 12 year old PC.(The computer has a bit of history:it belonged to Longwood Primary School, then they gave it to my uncle Jimmy. My uncle Jimmy gave it to my nanny. My nanny gave it to my Aunt Nan,and my Aunt Nan gave it to me.)I installed it on the computer and clicked on the icon.An error came saying:Scratch.exe has done an illegal error. If this problem persists contact the program vendor.I could give more info, but only if u ask.Signed, scratchyscratching

My last 2 initials of my name spell out PC.I also have 2 computers in my b/room and i know the most about computers in my house

Re: Help!

O.o Why do you say the history of your computer?

Anyway, how can a program do an "illegal error"? How can errors be illegal? That makes no sense.
Maybe try another (older) version of Scratch, like Scratch 1.1?

Re: Help!

How did you write Scratch 1.2.1 to a CD?

Scratch requires these files (they are in the Scratch folder) to run properly:
    Scratch.exe
    Scratch.image
    Scratch.ini
    ScratchPlugin.dll
    Mpeg3Plugin.dll
    license.txt *
Did you include these files?

* This file is not necessary for Scratch to run, but according to license.txt, "The above copyright notice and this permission notice shall be included in all copies of the Software."
