okay, cause Code::blocks was... wait... there was something I had to look up to get it to work properly..
I just forget what!What wasn't working?
MY BRAIN ISN'T WORKING CAUSE THIS TOWN IS SOOOOOOOOO DULL! (lol inside joke)
It may have been the whole gcc compiler deal, not working cause C::B didn't set it up by default?
Cds, try making a 3D object appear on the screen in code::blocks, in theory it should work in VC++ aslong as Sperry doesn't use any of the special .NET features then we should be able to work with both.

I would help, but the last time I helped someone with C++ I ended up making 90% of Interactive Buddy and got no credit. Now the creator is famous and he did nothing except upload it and start it.
1. You can't really switch C++ to flash
2. It was released in 03. Are you saying you made it when you were 4?

Yeah, in a way, C++ is a very complex language, yet as you said, it should get simplier after we've got the main frame of it done, such as the rendering and physics.

Ok guys, lets actualy see if we can get some work done.
Iv drawn up a basic flowchart for our first project,
http://www.filefactory.com/file/b25a9e4/n/3Drenderingflowchart.rtf
Lets see what we can do.

Heads Up Display.
I think he means like a stationary but on top of the screen that doesnt move.
i.e a bar that shows your ammo, score etc.
If you find me a good tutorial i should be able to help you, i've been meaning to learn c++ for a while

Nevermind ill help you though![]()
Ok, lets take a look...
http://www.cplusplus.com/doc/tutorial/ this looks like a good place to start, And the heads up display has already been suggested and added to the to-do list.

Bumpity bump. Seriously, I want to get going.

Right, just had a look at the flow chart, and I think our best bet is to look into OpenGL, get familiar with the 3D stuff by fiddling around, and making a simple project that:
Uses arrow keys to move an object arond the screen
Uses wasd key to change the tilt of the object
What d you think?
Good for staters?

Good idea! I think we should leave out SDL for the time being, less legal implications.
Sperry, can I appoint you my OpenGL expert (To be?) while I touch up my C++ skills.
Plus, I think, lets put all the 3D loading/rendering/managing stuff, after its finalized, into a header. (I know its probably obvious) but its worth saying.

1) Yeah, anyway: what legal implications?
2) Sure!
3) Yeah

3) Yeah
Legal implications, though minimal, I'd rather not have to use something which means I have to follow rules, just render graphics for a game engine.
Anyway, if we use OpenGL to do it all, then hide all that stuff behide a cover then it's easier to use and easier to understand.

Sorry for lack of progress, I can't get OpenGL to install. Uh,

Ok, keep trying.
Edit: http://www.opengl.org/wiki/Getting_started check that.
