Here is the US, we mess everything up. We associate philosophy with sorcery, when philosophy is new understanding, and sorcery is magic. Yeah, the book here in the US is named Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone.

Philosopher's Stone is what they call it everywhere but in the US - but JKR's publishers were like "NO! WE WANT SORCERORS!" so they changed it in the US.

I thought they were going to make Half blood prince 2 parts aswell. Why did they change thier minds?

They were never going to make HBP in 2 parts - they briefly considered turning Goblet of Fire into two parts, but decided against it and instead made some huge cuts to the plot of the film.

My opinions: Make it 2 parts: Good. Call it HP7? Effin' Horrible. It's like AVPR. Yeah. Probably the red is part of the name, I guess. HP7? What The Biscuit(tm)?

They don't change the name, it's just the short form
Every other movie has been HP1-HP6
