Well, check what file format your scan is and I'll tell you if it's supported

Well, it's definitely supported - are you sure you're in the right folder on your computer? Is it not showing up in the file browser, or do you import it and it won't show up in the Paint editor?

You clicked on them and then pressed "OK," right?
I'm not sure what's happening...

Have you tried restarting Scratch or your computer?

No, restarting it. Quit it, reopen it.
If that doesn't work, restart your computer.
If even that doesn't work, reinstall Scratch.
If that still doesn't work, I can't help you.
I have to go for now, but I'll try to help you when I get back.

My version of Scratch doesn't import JPEG either. I would try GIF or PNG. Use an image editor program to convert the JPEG to one of those other formats and see if that helps. Or maybe your scanner can save in those formats directly

strange, mine supports it, I use png or bmp though, low or no compression to ruin the images. I've used jpeg sometimes, but only when it was a fancy picture of something. I've imported pictures from a scanner before, when I wanted to show off a drawing I did, but I had no problem.

just a fyi...
I have used Irfanview for many years now. It is actually an image viewer but it does tons of editing stuff as well. Get the free plug-ins (around 7Megs) as well. More features than you can imagine, all free. I Posted this because someone mentioned converting formats.
There is a Save plug-in that will force jpgs to a certain (smaller) file size that does an incredible job of maintaining image clarity, great for forum sigs or packing images into a big Scratch project. There is a manual color correction feature that is so good, I use it on every picture whether I made it or found it. It also handles video formats, has a simple paint feature. I also use it for all crop and re-sizings. Don't get me wrong, I use Photoshop and lots of other apps as well but Irfanview is never off my desktop.
A must have app (I am an artist btw, traditional, digital, 3d, you name it lol)
