Please people . . . don't use Chrome!

...you seriously believe that?

Yes . . . yes I do . . .

I am quite sure Chrome knows every website you visit, every key stroke you make, and that they log this information on their servers and use it to IP profile you.

None of those things are good . . . .

(No, I doubt Google will "take-over" the world)

I'm using Chrome right now, and I don't see the point of tracking every website you visit and every key stroke you make, because that would take up a lot of space on a hard drive. Imagine a hard drive filled with the data of 5 million people visiting 20 websites  and making 20 thousand keystrokes a day, they would use,.....*using calculator*.....if each keystroke recorded took up 1 byte and each website recorded took up 2 bytes.....100,200 terra-bytes of memory per day, that means they would use 36,573,000 terra-bytes a year. I don't think that's possible, and what would they do with it anyway?

(rough estimate on information in the previous paragraph)

Re: What is your favorite internet browser?

Oooh! Battle of the browsers! Must make new failchart:

Opera: Annoying
Safari: No handy features or add-ons
Firefox: Not much to say... Not aesthetically appealing.
IE: *sigh*
Chrome: My fav (Although I use Safari  tongue  )
Seamonkey: *sigh*

Now, for the good points:

Opera: Very sleek, feels good to word process in it
Safari: Sleek, smooth, and fruity.
Firefox: Epic. 'Nuff said.
IE: Not much to say...  tongue
Chrome: Fast, sleek, secure, etc: http://bit.ly/cJ4qvw
Seamonkey: Can't say anything, or fear of... *shot*

There. The official iCode browser showdown.  big_smile

They don't log every keystroke, but I'm pretty sure they definitely log every website - they can already do that in other browsers via their wonderfully handy advertisement plans! They embed adverts onto your website... They also embed a code which tracks where you are by IP. Why do they do this, you ask? So that they can target ads towards you. For instance, they probably know from my searches and websites that I visit that I'm a rabid Harry Potter fan and love this program called Scratch. When I go onto other websites, or search for something, guess what they advertise? Scratching for Harry Potter fans, etc...

They're also developing technology which tracks *where you are*, too. That way, when I go to a website on my phone, it can tell me there's a restaurant nearby that I might be interested in. (Not that I actually have a phone.) They know everything  smile  And plus, Google has pretty much all the storage they'll ever need - they're thinking of launching this giant ship for all of their servers so they won't have to pay taxes.

Yeah... Pretty intense marketing strategy, eh? Just don't start an argument about it  big_smile

Re: What is your favorite internet browser?

Ok, people. Google isn't tracking ANYONE with Chrome. They do track your searches, though, but it is just for helping you find what you are looking for. Nothing bad.
Hey, if they WERE going to track you, you might as well say that Android listens in to your calls. Well, It doesn't. Don't believe me? The WHOLE Android source code is on the net. Look through that.

In the end, this is my opinion: GO CHROME!   big_smile

BTW, I know I way overused BBCode in that post.  smile  There. I'm done.

EDIT: I am using Chrome right now.  big_smile  TOO MUCH BBCODE!!!!

Knowing Google, they probably do have all that space. And as I posted, I said they probably didn't keep track of every keystroke. That would be a waste of space, because computers aren't quite so smart or powerful as to figure out what those keystrokes actually meant.

I've used both. Just not that much. So I don't really have an opinion of them.
