Seconded - Archery Champion is is graphically amazing and makes excellent use of sound. That said, the actual programing is relatively simple.
For pushing Scratch to the limits of what it is capable of programming wise, I'd probably vote for Kevin_Karplus or Canthiar.
There are plenty of others who also produce really technically impressive stuff, but I'd say these two stand out.

Even though no one knows about him, I'd say VincentValentine is really good. His game, Project: Green Hawk, is the best game I've seen so far on Scratch (it's better than Archery Champion, IMO), and that's his first project too. (Too bad he hasn't made anything else since, or at least hasn't uploaded anything...) Other great programmers are Canthiar, ernestpazera, Mayhem, archmage, and bigB.

When i download it here are some titles i want to do:
Shinobi Raid
Attack of the chickens
Destroy the city.
When i download scratch im going to start on those titles, and im going to release demos aswell

Shanesta's Archery Champion is the most 'commercially' useful project I ever saw in Scratch. As far as cleverness goes, I opt for Canthiar. Also, I think Marcell Balaton has done some extraordinary games, and I simply love jsimone's piano projects! Of course, there are so many exceptional talents here (Kevin Karplus, Roberth, Dr Jim, Mohlar, chalkmarrow, slobasso and the whole Scratch Team) that deciding for a single person is really not possible. But if I had to, I'd opt for Canthiar, my digital hero ;-)

It's hard to decide on a single person because the projects can be good in different ways. The best artwork I have ever seen on a project would have to be Shanesta's Archery Champion. Also Canthiar has some really complex and well coded projects.

Wow thanks for that.
I really didn't want to call out any one for programming because there are so many people out there doing an awesome job that I didn't want to leave anyone out. There are also so many people that have done one or two really great programs that I wish to see more from.

My nominations:
Most often run programs: Jens' "Combo" (fantastic background music - especially with
high quality MIDI sound)
Runner up: Kevin_Karpus's "One sprite bubble-wrap" (very relaxing)
Honorable Mention: gahelenmaxwell's: "Galen's Beatbox" (simple but addictive)
Best keyboard interface program (3-way tie): ejmankh's "Caesar Cipher", S65's "Scratch
Typewriter" and Jay's "Word Processor (multi-page)"
Honorable Mention: Dave 911's "Time to Write"
Special Award for best Spanish version: Jay's "Spanish text-to-speech"
Best Calculator (even if it is Reverse Polish): Kevin_Karpus' "RPN_Calculator"
Most user-friendly format for a "slide show" - "Mohlar's slideshow" (nice photos, nice
display)
FINALLY
Best overall graphics, sound and game play: Shanesta's "Archery Champion" (truly sets a
high standard). AND
Most deserving of a nomination for having no projects on his "my space page" - moi!
(Jens must have seen some of my earlier code)

Thanks for the nominations, folks. Like Canthiar, I don't want to pull out individuals, but there are a lot of projects out there that look good. I'll have to check up on a lot of the ones I haven't had time to look at yet.

A game that looks brilliant, is well presented, has 30 levels and manages to use just one sprite is slobasso's sliders. i really love this project and it has so few views (currently less than 60 with 6 love its). i would encourage anyone to try it. http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/slobasso/19494

Not the best proggramer, but Very smart with the way he uses variables to make working stamps is JoelP. he is very, er, cheecky when he uses scratch. And is zooming very fast to the title for 'best proggramer. He has started not even being able to moving sprites, and he is now building city building game 3 weeks later!

Mayhem Has helped me with alot of my scripting stuff that would've taken for-ev-er to figure out. So I vote him.

I couldn't say just one. There are A LOT of good nominees!

I agree. that's the best project Iv'e seen.

Hmm... I agree with Archmage that each project is good in it's own way.
I think Canthiar is the most skilled Scratcher here on the website.
But I really want to mention Boopaloo. She has great drawing talents and yet she is not a popular Scratcher. She also works in Crank_INC as a character and background designer.
And thank you, Mick!
There are a lot of good Scratchers here, you just can't list them all.

Oh wow, thank you.
I just uploaded my new game, it's an RPG called Last Imagination (it's a parody name of final fantasy). But I agree that canthiar, kevin_karplus and Mayhem are very good.
