Sound effect generator

I just found this great program that lets you make your own retro sound effects. It's not well known, but it's really useful if you need sound effects for something like a space shooter.

Download it here (scroll to the bottom of the page):
http://www.drpetter.se/project_sfxr.html

You can create pretty much anything with it. Click on the buttons on the left to load and edit some premade ones. If you press the randomize button, it generates a completely random sound effect! The four buttons at the top change what kind of "instrument" is used, and you can drag the sliders to change the sound completely. Having just the sliders is confusing, but do some experimenting and you can create some great effects!

When you're done, you can export it as .wav to use in your projects.

Have fun!

I'm taking a break from Scratch until 2.0 comes out. Any messages sent between then and now probably won't be read - sorry.

Re: Sound effect generator

Every sound wave is different? So you can make a whole completely new sound with it?  yikes
It's times like this I wish my computer's internal sound card hadn't broken. Speakers don't work either. Oh well, I can use it on a different computer. Thanks.

Pretty much, there's no limits to what you can do with it. It's all 8- and 16-bit, though, and just having the sliders to change it is slightly confusing, but it's still possible to use.

8-Bit and 16-Bit are okay with me
I enjoy the classics.
DOS games nestalgia kicking in... *slams head against wall* Great.
Anyway, I was thinking of making a project with old school graphics, and this will be a great asset to me

This is pretty awesome! I could make old-school games with this.
