How did you start modding? (What guide..)

What guide did you use? What were your first attempts like?  Stuff like that. Like an autobiography of the Scratch modding part of you.

There isn't really a guide to modding scratch, there a several threads that have been put up lately to help people understand Squeak/Smalltalk-80 but to start with, there was no guide.

Re: How did you start modding? (What guide..)

I didn't really use a guide... Instead, I just kinda browsed through the source code. Here was my first attempt at making a block EVER.

Block specs:

Code:

('if %b then %s else %s' #r #if:then:else:)

Instance:

Code:

if: t1 then: t2 else: t3
     t1 ifTrue: [^ t2]
     ^ t3

Epic fail, right?

Yawn, another boring text signature. I should really make something better.

Just a note to the general public: they're not called instances. They're called methods.
