I'm not really on Platinum anymore.. I'm in my HeartGold, and I have 2 Jirachis. When my Jirachi wouldn't listen to me during Falkner's fight, It kinda did better than me. XD (I have 2, a level 38 and a level 20) I'm in Cianwood city.

Does anyone think is stupid that Jolteon can't learn ThunderBolt while leveling up? I have a Jolteon on my in-game team and I'm stuck with Thunder on my Jolteon which kinda sucks with how low Thunder's accuracy is. But, I taught Jolteon Rain Dance which kinda helps, but not when you have to use it just to kill a simple water type Pokemon or Flying. It wouldn't be a problem if you got TM 24 realtivly early in the game but no. I think TM 24 is ThunderBolt. Well you get ThunderBolt in Cerulean Cave so late in the game...It's just ugh.

Yeah, when I got my Jolteon, I TMed it a lot. I taught it Thunder, Thunderbolt, Thundershock, and Shadow Ball.

Thunder+rain dance is better than thunderbolt IMO for the following reasons:
thunder in rain has perfect accuracy.
Thunder in rain has a boosted base power
thunder in rain can BREAK THROUGH PROTECT.

Yes, I think it was only 1/3 of the time though.

I'll quote it for you.

Heavy rain
* Effect: Increases the power of Water-type moves by 50%, weakens the power Fire-type moves by 50%, allows Thunder to bypass accuracy check and, in Diamond and Pearl, to hit through Protect and Detect 30% of the time. Causes Moonlight, Synthesis, and Morning Sun to recover ¼ of max HP. Activates the following abilities: Dry Skin, Forecast, Hydration, Rain Dish, Swift Swim. Changes Weather Ball to a Water-type move and doubles its power, and Castform to its Rain form. Also prevents Pokémon from exploding in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon. Can be lengthened from 5 to 8 turns with the use of the Damp Rock.

Off Smogon:
Has a 30% chance to paralyze the target. Cannot miss in rain, but is only 50% accurate in sun. In Diamond and Pearl versions, if it is raining, Thunder can hit through Detect and Protect 30% of the time. In Platinum and Pokémon Battle Revolution, a successful execution of Protect or Detect will always block Thunder even if it is raining.

Where did you see that?
What do you mean? That's the actual probability of Thunder + Rain Dance breaking through Protect. However, it's only in D/P and before.

This is my Jolteon's moveset right now. (BTW, I haven't finished Heart Gold. Well I have, I'm beating it for a second time. And I'm at Victory Road.)
Thunder Rain Dance
Quick Attack ThunderFang
I know thunderfang's physical and wont do much but this Jolteon's only for in game.
