Warnings don't always work. People could think they could take it, but maybe they couldn't. And people can lie about their age.

that would be that persons fault because they were warned. Its like touching something that has dont touch written all over it

like pandora and the box. people never listen... It's not our fault that we want to know as much as we can. If somebody gave you a box but told you not to open it, wouldn't you want to know what's inside?

It's like this. Imagine that scratch is a playhouse, and inapropriate things are substances you wouldn't want kids to have. You wouldn't want a bottle of the substance open on the counter, even if a few adults hung around in the playhouse, and wanted to have it around. Even if it was covered in warnings to not touch unless you are older than a certain age, you wouldn't want to have it around, because the place is swarming with kids.
Does that clear things up?  smile

Re: Freedom Of Speech On Scratch

I've changed my mind about some of the stuff I've said before.

Language: The H word, C**p, using the lord's name in vain, and the stupid/dumb/idiot type words should not be flagged. Only the seriously bad stuff should be deleted.
Violence: I think that some talk about violence might be okay. Promoting it is what should get it deleted. For example, if a project talked about domestic violence, but said it's a really bad thing to do, even thought it has violent references it shouldn't be deleted.

So an example of something that shouldn't be deleted is TheExplodingCheez's MHM Valentine Special. It was one of the mild things that people made way too much of a big deal about. It was hardly inappropriate. And since the project was so popular, it got a lot of Scratchers mad. I saw it myself, and it wasn't anything to get worked up about (the content of the video) but it was just a little edgy so it's gone forever. THAT IS NOT HOW IT SHOULD BE. And it's not just the MHM Valentine Special either. Lots of projects that had almost nothing to worry about have gotten flagged. Let's just be able to let loose on the mild projects, so we can worry about the serious project.

And if a serious project has a warning it shouldn't be flagged.

Re: Freedom Of Speech On Scratch

If any of you may remember, my brother Half_Life_2 made a couple of parody and spoof projects off of some famous scratcher's animations. He gave credit and shiz, yet his projects were removed even though there was nothing "bad" in it. the report is system is flawed, but that happened in 2008.
What I'm saying is that people can still view reported projects if they aren't "bad".

If you want this topic closing to new posts, just say, and I'll close it for you  smile

Also - do you want to keep your sig attached to each post? You can make a real one (so that you don't have to type/paste it each time) by going to "profile" under the bit that says "Scratch Forums", and clicking "Personality" on the left hand side  smile
