I just finished my last exam so I've got plenty of time to program now
I need someone to make the artwork for a game that will be programmed in both scratch and flash.
If you want to help me please let me see examples of your art work. It should be good enough to be in a flash game.
The flash version of the game will be submitted to several popular game site including: addictinggames.com and newgrounds.com.
I haven't decided what the game will be about so you can share your ideas.
There are a few rules I'd like to set for the game though
-original characters only
-must be possible to program in both scratch and flash
-appropriate for all audiences
-must be fun
Just make a post if you want to help me

I probably could help with level art (but not character art, because for some reason I completely suck at drawing characters). Here's an example of my work:
It needs a lot of work (more detail in the BG, some trenches/highlights in the checkerboard soil, etc.), but I just whipped this up in maybe 25 minutes so =P. Hope this is good enough; if it isn't I can make it better with the improvements above and re-post it.
I could also help a bit with programming, but odds are you wouldn't need that =P

Like what kind of characters do you want drawn? I may be able to help but I am not sure about my artistic levels yet.

I'm actually fairly good at drawing characters if you give me some sort of base (like a sprite in the style you want or something like that). For example:
Yeah, an old AIM smiley somehow got turned into a guy in a suit wearing a bowtie...

This is honestly not my best work, I just whipped it up to show you something. But this is what i madein about 5 or so minutes:
Oh, and it was enlarged, I usually make my stuff way too small...

Ok, here is kinda what I am looking for. I need someone who can create sprites that are similar in quality to the sprites in this game.

Do you want them in the same style (cartoony, hand-drawn looking)?

Well they just have to look good. Like the different between sprites in scratch and most flashes is quite obvious. I want the sprites to look like they belong in a quality piece of work.

Oh, okay. Do you think the stuff I posted earlier would be sufficient quality?
EDIT: also, I forgot something. I don't know how to work with vector art; is that okay? (Flash uses only vectors IIRC, right?)

Well the backgrounds looks good but I also need some nice looking character sprites. Could you post a sheet of a character run cycle or something of the sort.
About the vector art thing. Its ok if you make the pictures in another program. I can import the sprites into flash and convert them into vector images.
Also, flash can use bitmaps but it isn't that great for character sprites because it messes up the hitTesting. People usually use bitmaps for backgrounds because they are easier for flash to render.

Ah well, I can't draw that good on a computer.

I stink all around at art, but I advise going to this forum thread (http://scratch.mit.edu/forums/viewtopic.php?id=2091) because it is a thread al about sprite requests. It might not be quite what you are looking for but it is a start.

Are you thinking of a game with real people, or sort of fake popel - I mean, do you want to make a game more like Naruto or Pokemon? I can make some made up characters, but I'm not good with real people drawing. I would like to help you if I can.

I don't know what you mean.

I can help you, but I won't be available for several days as I am flying to America and have to pack my bags and all.
I draw in Paint.NET and Macromedia Flash MX, just started Corel Painter X.
I cannot give an example of artwork as I can draw in --or imitate-- several styles and I don't exactly know what kind of style you need; if you give me an example of what you want the game to be about and what you want it to look like I will be able to draw something suitable (just remember, I won't be available for several days). I animate pretty well (here's an old example of a running cycle animation), but it can take quite a long time for me to complete an animation (7-13 hours, depends on difficulty), so if you don't mind waiting, I can do it.
Notify me if you are willing to team up with me.

Also, I am not very good at backgrounds; only characters and objects.

Yup. she is.

I can use scratch and flash. I can't make good flash games yet. (I need to play around with the program somemore first) but I can make good cutscenes in flash.

Maybe I could do backgrounds and MyRedNeptune could do characters/objects? I tried to animate a run cycle today, but it was a failure. As far as characters/objects go, I could do some simple static objects or edit some stuff, but not more than that. I know you only want one person to help you, but not many people are good at both characters AND backgrounds.
Also, I might be able to help with the music production. If you give me a MIDI, I can render it as an MP3, and make it sound much better too. Example: This MIDI was rendered by me to this MP3.

Alright then, as long as there is someone to make the character sprites.
But before I start anything I have to think up the concept for the game.
I was thinking that I could program a game similar to river city ransom.
play it at --> http://www.everyvideogame.com/arcade.php?mode=play&g=724
Basically its a scrolling beat em up game where you can beat up thugs collect money and buy stuff.
Any other ideas are welcome

Another idea: how about a scrolling platformer-shooter (something like Mega Man, basically)? I've yet to see a good game like this on Scratch. Even better, you've already made an engine for a game like this.
Video of Mega Man (ignore the intro, that's just put there by the guy who made the video)
The scrolling is more complex than the platformer-shooter engine, but if you look at it closely it isn't that much harder to implement; just use an area system for loading costumes, and only scroll vertically when the top/bottom of the screen is touched. Notice how that, in the game, scrolling vertically is just smoothly swapping the Y positions of the bottom level and top level.
