1000 second rule

I haven't been on the new tbg yet, and earlier today when I went on them, I found out that I had to wait 1000 seconds instead of 60 seconds. I'm guessing that's only for new users to the forum and that includes the tbg too. So now, I'm thinking 1000 is a little much, don't you think? Maybe 200 seconds, but 1000? Now, this is probably to prevent spam from younger, newer users, who don't know how to use the forums, but still. What do you guys think of it?

Re: 1000 second rule

1000/60 = 16 miuntes, thats way out of proportion, and in TBGs you have to post regularly.

See that post up there ^^^

Wait. New users can't use search? Wouldn't that just create more problems with duplicate topics?

Re: 1000 second rule

The restrictions on new users was to try and stop a large wave of spammers... they had to make the wait between posts that long...  sad

Re: 1000 second rule

But the main forum's rule for new members has been shortened to 600 seconds already. Maybe the Scratch team just forgot about the TBG forum. They should at least make the 17 minute rule into 10 minutes like here. Also New Members can't make topics on the TBG, which is a terrible idea. Even the main forums aren't limited that much.

The TBG forum has many less users and is much more obscure, and thus doesn't need the same level of protection.

I don't think they need a 600 second rule there  hmm

Re: 1000 second rule

It actually needs less protection. This New Scratchers thing looks like it came recently. What in god's name happened to make these restrictions to new members start?

Trolls. LOTS OF THEM.

They kept on posting innapropriate images and everytime they got banned, they used a proxy server to make a new account.
