Different Show n Tell topics

I've noticed that in the show and tell forum, since there are so many posts, a single one almost never gets any views or replies. So I was thinking, that maybe if people are looking for a specific type of project, there could be different show and tell forums, liike an Art Show and Tell, a Game Show and Tell, etc. Does anyone agree?

Well, I think there are enough forums already.

Unless you're talking about different threads - in which case, people wouldn't be able to post their own threads, which I think is quite useful.

Either way, it kind of damages the very tailored system we already have.

Yes!  I agree there should be a place to request attention and find new projects that want attention, in different categories.
So that you can find projects you can help, and post projects to people that like your kind of project.

But I think we could do better than the "show and tell forum"
- it's not dead easy to find, use or browse.
- It requires time, skill, knowledge to make a good request with a click-able link. (or better with a thumbnail.)  I believe we would do better with something more simple and integrated into the site.

I think TAGS are supposed to do help us find new projects in different categorizes... they sort of do, if you go to a tag page then "most recent"  ( example: cat tag page, newest ) but not well-- that's not obvious to find, and you don't know if these people want attention or help now.

I believe this idea/need is addressed in 2 ideas I suggested: make it easy to request help/attention to one project, and for these people to help each other. and better community managed categorization and promotion of projects

I hope we'll keep suggesting and improving ideas that would improve the way we request and give help; and how we categorize and find projects then beg the scratch team to implement.   smile

Having a whole section and bunch of forums for Show and Tell is going a bit far... I think the Show and Tell forum we already have is okay.  smile

On some PunBB forums (The same type as the scratch forums) you can have sub forums, so this might work, and it would really help publicity.

Let's try to do better than okay!

I do think this is a great idea, it would help people that like certain types of projects get together to help each other out... so people that like games can help people that are working on games.   BUT not as a forum, it should be dead easy to use...  Like I wrote above.   smile

Then what do you suggest? Chatrooms aren't allowed.
Something like GoogleWave maybe?
