This is for people who have a keyboard with midi in/out ports and can connect it to the pc. This can also be used with your computer keyboard but I find it too awkward and most keys are not included.
The program lets you take any .midi file (there are midi for most popular songs, just search google) and turn it into a guitar hero type game.
I just thought that some people might find this interesting

I am getting a keyboard sometime next week, so right now I am just playing with it using the keyboard and just watching the note bars fall. There is something I find very amusing about downloading midi's of my favorite video game songs and seeing how one would play in on a keyboard.

I should get this
It looks pretty cool.
@Archmage: It would be awesome to play our favorite video game music
I remember using MagicPiano on a friends iPad to play the Final Fantasy theme.

This program is far superior to the magic piano app because it lets you add any midi song. The magic piano app makers have to add songs. Not to mention that you can use a real instrument instead of wasting your money on a big iTouch.
I don't think you'll ever see something like this on the i(maxi)Pad

If you download it you can still play with the computer keyboard.

Oh yeah - I've seen this on youtube I think! Pretty cool!
All I have to say though is that guitar hero style games may be fun, but it's definitely not my playing or learning style for the piano, considering my multiple years of experience
.

I've had years of experience playing the viola so I am not a beginner with music. If you buy the upgrade pack for 20$ then you can also read the music notes along with the bars. With that learning to play sheet music should be easier since you can clearly see what keys to press and what they look like as notes.

My mom's always wanted me to play piano ^^ So we're considering the upgrade pack... :3

Yeah as soon as I get my board I am using paypal to buy an upgrade key. With it, you can actually learn how to play properly because it shows you the notes and has other useful features to help you learn. I think that when you get used to it reading the notes is better than using the bars because its more compressed.
