My Scratch 2.0 Ideas

Here Are My Scratch 2.0 Ideas:

1. A Thing For The Cursor. You Could Add It Right Under The Background, And There Could Be A Paint Editor For The Cursor. (Plain Awesomeness.)

2. I Really Think BYOB Should Be Added. I Know Alot Of People That Would Agree.

3. Scratch 2.0 Should Be Available For Download Too. Because If You Lost Internet Connection, Then You Would Still Be Able To Use Scratch. From What I've Heard, It's Gonna Be Online. That Is NOT Good.

4. We SERIOUSLY Need A [if on sprite [Sprite] bounce] Block. It Would Make It SO Much Easier To Make Paddleballs.

5. I Know This Has Been Mentioned Before A Billion Times, But We Still Really Need It, So I Added It Here. It's The <receive []> Block.

Post Your Ideas Here Too!  big_smile

It's been suggested a lot, and I agree. I don't see any reason why not.

2. I Really Think BYOB Should Be Added. I Know Alot Of People That Would Agree.

It might be a little too much work for the Scratch team, and it could also be a little hard for newer users to comprehend. If there was a way to make it easier to understand, I'd definitely support.

It'll be online and offline. There will be a downloadable version.

Sure, but then what's the fun in programming if it's all as easy as that? There's gotta be some challenge. But hey, I support.

Sure! I support that, even though it's been suggested a billion times  smile

This.

Except  I would like to add Jens and Bharvey's main goal is to get it put into Scratch.

I'm glad to think that the community will always be kind and helpful, the language will always be a fun and easy way to be introduced into programming, the motto will always be: Imagine, Program, Share - Nomolos

Re: My Scratch 2.0 Ideas

Definitely support. However, I agree with coolstuff that blocks that can be easily programmed from other blocks should not be added on a consistent basis, because this would take the fun out of Scratch. I can see the distance block, etc., but it could potentially go overboard, so to speak.

I know coolstuff already explained stuff, but...

That would be cool, but it could get into some trouble... like a huge cursor, for example.

BYOB is separate from Scratch, actually... but BYOB was made by Jens and bharvey; Jens was a former member of the Scratch Team, so he might be able to do something about it - but I still doubt it would happen, because BYOB is far more complex and is different in many ways.

It'll be available offline as well - don't worry.  smile

It wouldn't be bad, but how exactly would it bounce? If a sprite is directly on top of another, how will it decide what direction to move in?

This would be fun, though.  wink

That would be very handy - but it would make 1s1s projects too easy.  tongue

I support, though.  smile

Hmph enjoy your fall - I get a lovely spring... without pans of new leaves.

Re: My Scratch 2.0 Ideas

The <receive [ ]> block isn't a true or false statement - it wouldn't work.  tongue  But the <[ ] received?> block would work the same way - and it's a true or false statement!  big_smile

Support. REALLY.

2. I Really Think BYOB Should Be Added. I Know Alot Of People That Would Agree.

A good idea, but it would probably be too hard to add for the Scratch team.

3. Scratch 2.0 Should Be Available For Download Too. Because If You Lost Internet Connection, Then You Would Still Be Able To Use Scratch. From What I've Heard, It's Gonna Be Online. That Is NOT Good.

There is gonna be an offline version, as many scratchers pointed out  smile

4. We SERIOUSLY Need A [if on sprite [Sprite] bounce] Block. It Would Make It SO Much Easier To Make Paddleballs.

support. Even if it takes the fun of programming a bit away.

5. I Know This Has Been Mentioned Before A Billion Times, But We Still Really Need It, So I Added It Here. It's The <receive []> Block.

When I first started using scratch I had no idea as to how you could use any other blocks to make the same thing. I think it would be really helpful!

I totally support! I've ran into plenty of instances when I needed that, though (@Jonathanpb) I would've worded it <I receive []?> instead of <[] recieved?>

Yawn.
