okay so for scratch bash i figured there were two things i could do
#1: i could keep all of the character looking different with different styles
#2: i could use a base and make changes from there so all characters would have a similar body type, essentially making them even.
here's an example
personally, i'd like to change it up, but i'm asking you guys.

To be honest, I really like the original Cheese warrior, and I don't really like that new template.

okay
all i want is honesty lol so thanks for your input.
i think for now, i am going to change it up, but it's going to be with a whole lot of new characters as opposed to old ones. i want to implement a really really good fighting system where you can parry and fight back and use combo's etc, and this new template allows for very versatile movement in all characters
not only will it greatly decrease the number of costumes, but attacks should look cooler and game play should be much more fun
again, i appreciate your input!

anyone else got anything to input?

cool, thanks!
BTW HUGE CREDIT TO SARGE981, EVERYONE VISIT HIS PROJECTS, I USED HIS BASE FOR MANY CHARACTERS AND AS CREDIT TO HIM I WILL BE ADDING HIS NAME IN THE PROJECT NOTES AND INCLUDING SOME OF HIS CHARACTERS AS WELL AS ADDING HIS NAME TO THE CREDITS IF I ADD THEM TO THE GAME... lol

i get your idea, but this game isn't really like that it's more of a super smash bros kind of game
something to consider though, thanks for your input!

What if you get achievements for doing stuff like "beat 5 enemies" and each one has a set value of "credits" (or whatever). Then, when you want, you can trade in your "credits" for costumes for different characters?
Offline
that sounds cool
i was going to have unlockable characters too, perhaps a credits store in game where you could buy upgrades and stuff. well maybe not upgrades, more like add ons

Thats a good idea. I tried making a Super Smash Bros. type game and it didn't work at all because the people ween't even...But what are you going to do about cube guy?
Offline
that's what he looks like now

You should probably make the new templates more.....well, edit the template a little each time so it doesn't look like the same guy, just in different colors, fighting.
And the characters could be more inspired..... Cheese man isn't the most creative.

On the trailer, you left a few of the characters on, but I can't figure out how to switch between them

there's only two working characters, the rest are able to be seen but cannot move, i can't remember the variable name, but one controls the character, it's currently set to one, setting it to two brings up the next character, and then three and four and so on.
btw i think the trailer may have al of the character's alternate costumes too, but they're not able to be switched to with the variables.

I support the change too.
