-Is moderating the Scratch website very hard?

Not really - it's the judgement calls that are really challenging, like in the bit I wrote above. Sometimes you make the wrong call.

As MyRedNeptune told me, "anyone could close a topic if they had the buttons, but mods were chosen for their special talent of friendliness."

-Since you've been elected moderator, have you spent more time on the forums than before?

Not really... I have a tendency to spend excessive time on the forums anyways. The good thing about moderating is that now I have an excuse to do that 

-How do you feel being the patrol force of the forums? Is it enjoyable, hard, or boring?

It's actually quite enjoyable... And it definitely makes me feel good to be helping out with something as big as Scratch. I generally do a lot of helping out around the community, but rather than just helping 3 or 4 people as I do there, it's nice to be able to help out the hundreds. You know that feeling you get when you do something nice for somebody else? It's like that, except it's a constant when I'm on here.

But it can be a little bit nerve-wracking when you don't know what to do. And when it comes to inappropriate links, I don't find that enjoyable at all, but it definitely does feel nice to remove that kind of stuff.

-What are you best and worst experiences of being a mod so far?

I'd have to say my best experiences have had to do with the Design Studio. As a moderator, it's an optional responsibility (and I use the term "responsibility" in a loose sense because I'm not *really* responsible for anything - if I want to go away for a week, I'm not obligated to go on a few times during that period of time) to add projects to the Design Studio. I don't normally look at the projects in the Design Studio, and so adding projects onto the gallery was definitely a big change for me. It's opened my eyes to just how creative certain projects can be; I remember adding a few projects that just made me go "wow!"

My worst experience was probably the trolls... Looking at the kind of stuff they posted wasn't necessarily my cup of tea. I actually had to disable images for my own account there for a few days, until the effects wore off - and then the whole forum disabled the images. The moderating team had to delete a few attacks each day, and it wasn't exactly all that fun, either.
