I recently downloaded the song Caramelldansen on my computer. I checked the file and it said that it was about 3:30 long and was 256mhz. When I was importing it into Scratch, this happend:
O_O Look at the file size and length.
The real file is 4.32MB. Scratch added a bunch of garbage to the file!

Try this:
Open it in something like Audacity.

Have you tried re-importing it?
Yes, and I get the same thing.
It plays correctly on my MP3 player, so it must be either Squeak or Scratch.

My guess is that it's Scratch; that's really wierd, though. Have you done anything that might have corrupted the file in any way? Have you tried playing it all the way through?

I haven't messed with the file. I haven't played it in Scratch yet, could you try?

I imported it and it ended up the same - 9 minutes and way larger than it should have been. The site you got it from seems a little iffy - maybe that's why it's messed up. After the song ends the way it should, all I get is silence - which doesn't explain the bloated size.

Oh. My MP3 player and my PC play it fine, so it must be Scratch or Squeak.

Solution: convert to wav. I had the same thing and it worked.

It must be the site you downloaded Carmelldansen from. Try downloading it from a diffrent site. My non-iffy music site reccomendation is iTunes.

Actually, it was already concluded that the problem was in Scratch's MP3 decoder.

I think that stranger knows what he's doing too (probably)
And wav files do turn into garbage. I know from personal experience
