It's amazing how well-made holiday banners didn't get put up for Christmas, but the Scratch Team put this simple banner that was probably made in the scratch paint editor up.
It's not that bad.

It's not in the list of Scratch holiday logos yet... maybe it has to leave first.

I think that logo is cool. Even though it's winter for me.
I just realized that it's winter solstice. Happy shortest day of the year.

I wish I live at your place... I love cold and hate warm temperatures.

Err. I live in Australia, today the temperature got to about 20 degrees celsius which is about 68 degrees Fahrenheit. In summer it gets to around 35 on average (95).

I mean really, it's got a poorly drawn gradient sun and some plain colored waves. Where did all the logos made with GIMP/photoshop/pain.net go?

It may not be as good as some previous logo's, but it's still nice and you should consider other people's feelings before you comment on someone elses work
.
Another Scratcher worked on that Logo, so congrats supermattyb11 for having it used ^^

The logo doesn't have to contain complex waves and a 'masterpiece sun' to show the summer spirit. I love the simplicity in this image, something more advanced would not necessarily be better.

This.
We're working on some improvements to the way we do Holiday Logos.
It's interesting how easy it is to be critical of organizations these days. For example, Andresmh and I both use Ubuntu Linux, and were just talking about how the latest release seems to have a lot more bugs than usual - many of which are a real pain. I found myself assuming that the leadership didn't care about us, or were just too lazy to fix the bugs. I don't know exactly why I made that assumption, but it was almost automatic - so easy.
But when I thought more about it I realized that these people probably have a lot of other important stuff to do. And just because there are problems and things don't work as well as they might doesn't mean the leadership doesn't care or wouldn't like to improve / fix them. After all, Ubuntu is provided absolutely free by people who care about it - just like Scratch.
So - I'm not asking you to hold back your criticism. I think some criticism helps keep us on our toes. But when you find something that you think could be improved, please do what you can to figure out a way to improve it. Thanks!
