Friend Requests

Currently, all the friend requests I get have only one option under them

"OK, I'll Decide Later".  I'm guessing this is supposed to be two options, "OK" and "I'll decide later" but at the moment its one link, so even clicking on "OK" causes the request to be declined.

Re: Friend Requests

Now it has changed to "I'll Decide Later" with no other options.

Re: Friend Requests

Now you have to go to the profile page of the person that you want to be the friend of...do you like this, or the old system?

Re: Friend Requests

No, don't care for either system, since "friends" doesn't really mean much in the scratch system.

Re: Friend Requests

It does give a handy way to keep a list of people whose programs you like to refer to often - that in itself I find usefull even if the actual "friend" designation doesn't mean much.

Re: Friend Requests

Yes, I have a list of people whose home pages I want to visit occasionally, but the "friend" metaphor is just the wrong one.

Re: Friend Requests

Well, "Friend" does take up less room on screen than "people whose home pages I want to visit occasionally".

wink

As for the new system - I'm not sure what benefit it gives over the old one.  And if you are going to change it, it would have been nice to be told how it works (or did I miss an announcement?)

Re: Friend Requests

One change that might be nice would be if thumbnails either weren't shown or were optional on "Friends" lists. Earlier I tried to look at a project of "wii" - who has 256 friends (so far).  Just opening the page took longer than I was willing to wait at the time

Please read my post about this here: http://scratch.mit.edu/forums/viewtopic.php?id=949

I would certainly welcome your opinions, especially from kids :-)
