Mario wasn't the first mascot Nintendo pulled out, but he was the most popular before Sonic arrived. They were king of the hill with Mario but you've got to admit that when SEGA invented Sonic, the two companies and mascots where breathing down each others necks, they were so close!
I might return for a little while.

I agree with you guys, this is nintendo's best lineup in a few years. The only thing missing is Pikmin 3. And so many games coming out at once... And to think I though PMD:Explorers of Sky/Bowser's Inside Story/NSMBW coming out at once was harsh...

Mario has been Nintendos mascot ever since he was released, and he's served incredibly well in that capacity. Sonic was a decent rival at first. However, since Sonic Adventure 2, Sonic has gone progressively downhill, to the point where he is a joke amonst the large majority of gamers.

Sonic did kinda die when Sega released 60 billion new characters and created a ton of gimicks 
I'm hoping the new Sonic advernture 4 for the WiiWare will be good though ^^
