more sound effects

in scratch 2.0 there should be more sound effects so we can make our projects "more vivid with sound". also maybe add some music and sounds from video games .

Re: more sound effects

Most video game sounds are copyrighted to the company that made the game, but we can use them in our game because of our creative commons license (spelled right?) Scratch team might implement more sounds in the next version of Scratch, but I don't think video game sounds will be in automatically.

If you want video game sounds, you could record some or download illusionist's mega pack of sounds here: http://scratch.mit.edu/forums/viewtopic.php?id=28140

Ooh - there is Scratch Resources (basically, loads of sprites, sounds, and backgrounds)... but I'm not sure if it's open yet, and I can't remember the link  hmm

Next time you have a question try to post in "All about Scratch" or "Troubleshooting".

Going back to your question, all that you have to do is make sure that your music file is in the .mp3 format. Then, you go to sound. Click the button that says "Import" and find the music file that you want to put in the project. After that click "Import" on that screen and like magic your file is on scratch.

It's great that you came to the forums to ask. Whenever you have a question make sure you come to the forums. We'll all help when we can.  smile
