Links when you paste a URL- bring them back.

http://scratch.mit.edu/

See that URL? They used to automatically become links. Please bring this back.

Re: Links when you paste a URL- bring them back.

I think the Scratch Team were asked about this... and they said no...  hmm  It's a universal setting or something, so they can't do it...

You could always type:

Code:

[url]http://scratch.mit.edu[/url]

instead... The url tag still works  smile

Yes, Wolfie got it right. It's a universal setting, so you can't enable it for just one class of users without delving deep into the code of FluxBB...

Re: Links when you paste a URL- bring them back.

I think this should be enabled... people could just spend a few more seconds putting [url] tags around their links anyway.

This was enabled before... surely it could be brought back?  hmm  Not that I mind using the BBCode tags.  tongue

Re: Links when you paste a URL- bring them back.

But who is it disabled for?

I understand it's universal, but what does that have to do with not turning it on? I think everyone should be able to post links like that...

Yeah... why disable it when the trolls can just use [url] tags?  hmm

It slows them down a bit  smile
Along with the 17-minute rule and various other barriers, they won't stand a chance.

Can't they spend part of the 1000 seconds putting in the BBCode tags? 1000 seconds is a lot of time - it only takes a few seconds to add in the BBCode tags. So... along with the 1000 seconds, disabling normal links isn't really going to help slow down the spammers.  hmm

They can't for outside of Scratch.  wink
This should be brought back for Scratchers, at least for inside of Scratch.  smile
