I agree too. But Here's My Master Plan...

1: 3ds comes out
2: I sell DS lite for high price on eBay
3: Get 3DS
4: Use remaining money to buy that extensive rush of games they revealed
5: No getting rid of all my DS games!

I don't mind Nintendo, but I'm a SEGA fan. Sonic The Hedgehog is (no offence meant) probably a better mascot, though, because he's fast, blue, creative and Mario (as I say, I do not mean offence) is in a plumber costume.

Mario can sprint, jump on a giant turtles head and kill it, breath in space, and you have the nerve to say he just a fat plumber (he's a aft plumber but that's not all he is)? 

@soup: He doesn't kill it when he jumps on it, he just makes it go back into its shell. 

@tomicool: Who told you Mario was Nintendo's mascot? It could be Link, Zelda, D.K., or Pikachu.

Meh, I really don't like Nintendo any more. Their games are just getting really childish. But you guys are entitled to your opinions.

Well thanks for making assumptions about me. But infact I don't play COD. I just play games that are are better than plumbers running around and Pink blobs running about. 

I play halo 3 and reach beta, and I still like Mario and Kirby. I don't see the problem.

Metroid has always been my favorite series of Nintendo's Big Three, and everything else. I'm a sci-fi guy, I guess. Mario and Zelda are just too, you know, medieval. Castles, princesses. You know.

I think I also loved Prime because it forced you to read, or else you wouldn't know what the heck you were supposed to do or what the heck that game is about. Because there is literally no speech in the original. It's all from the scans. Anyway.

I think Metroid Prime may be my favorite game of all time. Retro Studios sure did a great job on it.

Let's see if Other M will live up to it. I doubt it. But I think it will still be good.

I disagree. Mario makes such a good mascot because his seemingly arbitrary character design and his general silliness means he works perfectly in just about any kind of game, whereas Sonic doesn't really work outside of his platforming demographic.

Anyway, Nintendo dominated this years E3. Microsoft put on a decent show, and Sony performed miserably.
The main reason I felt Microsoft and Sony fell short was because their largest tech releases, Move and Kinect, are attempting to jump on the bandwagon for the casual gaming demographic the Wii created. However, Xbox and Playstation have always been geared towards a less casual fanbase, so the reality is the crowd they are trying to appeal to is unlikely to already own one of their consoles, and will be with the Wii. Given that the games shown at E3 (Apart from the Jedi one, that was awesome) are similar party games reminiscent of the Wii, Kinect and Move are unlikely to do much in the long run. Quite simply, Microsoft and Sony were too late in trying to expand to the casual fanbase.
Secondly, Nintendo wins simply because of the 3DS. I've read myriad reports on it, all of which were singing the consoles praises, and I can't wait to experience it for myself. The list of release games on it is tremendous (The only thing missing is a Super Smash Bros 3D) and Nintendo now has tons of 3rd party support.
