Violence. You can look at it anyway you want. For some its sick a cruel. And for others, its pure joy. If you take a look at the news, violence. If ya turn on the T.V., Violence. If ya play video games, violence. You see a patern here, dont ya? Every where we look, we see violence. I had bought fallout 3 for the heck of it, and boy, thats violence. We have to take a look around us and see what violence is turning the world into. Most inportantly, what its turning US into.

There have been several studies showing that violence on video games results in more turbulent behavior, kiwi95.
While I agree on the general idea, what would you consider violence, or violence that is harmful? What is the difference between cartoon blood and a realistic FPS shooter scene?
These are all questions we have to answer when we use entertainment like TV and video games.

Yes, but those people just have no common sense. I play violent videogames all of the time, and I'm a very nice person.
Yes people have played GTA and have went to violence, but those people clearly are not right mentally. I don't think that because of a few crazy people I should doing something I enjoy and can control.
Anyway, I respect your opinion.

Studies have shown ( Paul Ekman's studies) that little children who watched a violent program, (it was actually Tom and Jerry) and were then taken into a room and left there for a few minutes, were more violent to a doll that was hanging from the roof (or something like that) than those who didn't watch it.

I assure you, Mario Kart creates more 'turbulent behaviour' than Halo 3 because of THOSE ANNOYING BLUE SHELLS.

Yeah. You are about to win when you get hit by one of those and you end up getting third place. Been there.
With me (150cc) it's usually getting hit by a blue shell, then red, then Big mushroom, then star, then knocked off a cliff (star sends you flying).

It does get pretty violent when that happens and I start slamming my Wii wheel on the floor in my basement in rage.

My friend tripped over the cord to our Rockband drumset and knocked our Wii four feet down. It still works perfectly! Modern technology sometimes is stronger than it needs to be on a regular basis. Like a brick. Now those things are heavy duty modern technology.

Umm... a source that I trust (How Stuff Works) put that claim in a list of Video Game myths.
Anyways, if blood covers half the screen or more, and it's not just a game where you surf the blood vessels or something, it's way too bloody and gory. Violence, taken to the extreme (people randomly punching people), is bad. But in the right amount, it's okay. Like Goldilocks.

Violent video games and programs do make people more violent.

Please experiment using non-insane people.
You know how there's a story about a murderer being obsessed with GTA? So it's GTA's fault that the murderer was born with slight mental issues? Stop blaming violent games for things that happened before the game was introduced.

Erm... The version of goldilocks I know, if it was filmed the camera would be covered in blood, so I agree!

You people will probably change your mind when you grow up. Maybe you'll like it, maybe you'll hate it even more.
And anyway, you're saying that a violent game causes more violent behavior. I guess this is true short term but not forever. Like the doll thing, that proves nothing. Let me explain...
The children were watching a violent program. That would give them some ideas. Now give them a doll a few months later. Do they act a lot more violent?

No, I mean it's a proven fact. I might not be true for everyone in the world, but it is for most. Studies have shown ( Paul Ekman's studies) that little children who watched a violent program, (it was actually Tom and Jerry) and were then taken into a room and left there for a few minutes, were more violent to a doll that was hanging from the roof (or something like that) than those who didn't watch it.
