Use a decent rock type to fight Scyther.

Good defenses mean it won't do much, and rock type moves are 4x effective against it.

Yeah, like get a geodude, raise it to lvl 15 or so and use rock throw at the sycther since its 4x effective.

Try using something flying type. Bayleef is weak against bug, and a 5 level difference is nothing.

I don't HAVE a flying type!!!!!!!!! And it'll take me WEEKS to get one and train it so its strong enough. I do have a Duncspace named Firerage, and he was pretty good against Metapod, and he's a level 10! Metapod was about 14. Pretty impressive.... that U-Turn is like my weakness! neutral oh yeah, and I have a level 5 Onix, (Rocky) who is meh on defense. It affects him, but works. Oh, wait. He just learned Screech, and then.......oh my gosh!!!! YAY!

No, no. I just noticed Rocky can use Screech to reduce the defense, so I can defeat Scyther! I KNOW I can do this! I also caught a level 7 Ekans and a level 7 Geodude.
Don't you find it weird that there are female Geodudes? XD

I don't particularly enjoy Smogon in terms of the movesets, EV's and general atmosphere, but the stuff they do (Such as Krilowatt) is very interesting and would be good ideas for Nintendo to look at.
