I just put together some not-so-thought out tips. Have fun proof reading it.
Scratch Game Making Tips
Scratch games. Where would we be with out them? They're every where. Running, shooting, drawing, dodging, guitar playing, scrolling and even surfing. So, you've seen a lot of really cool ones, but how can YOU make a decent one your self. Well, it won't be easy, and you have to know your limits, so newbies shouldn't go out in an attempt to build an RPG. No. Instead start out small. Check guides out on the forums and such. But lets say you've done all that and you're decent programmer. Yet, you can't seem to make a half decent game. I was in this situation not to long ago. Well here's the key elements your project needs.
1) Graphics. An absolutely horrible game can be saved by amazing graphics. Trust me. Now you can't expect to make something amazing. Just something that looks nice. So remember this: gradients are the key. Not gradients like blue and brown. Gradients that blend in nicely together are a big help. Blue, and light blue for example. Also, include shading. Be careful not to over do shading with tons of layers though. Simple enough, right?
2) The Game Menu. These are important. Give your game more that just a "click to start" button. Give it options, extra modes and maybe unlockables and achievements. Make your menu simple though, and transition from page to page smoothly, rather than the player having to wait 10 minutes for the [repeat 100] ghost effect to finish. And remember a small game can appear larger with more modes and unlockables.
3) Game Play. Obviously, this is the most import part. Make the game simple, don't over do it. To save absolutely terrible game play, add a bit of addictiveness to it. The viewer won't be able to say "this is horrible" if they've been playing it for an hour. Scrollers need enemies, shooters need upgrades, platformers need power ups. Simple enough? Maybe.
So have fun. Keep those ideas in mind, and don't ever feel pressured to make a project genre you don't want to. Ignore comments that are putting you down. Make what you want, when you want. Good luck.

That's pretty much all the motorized cookie series is.

Sure! Thanks!
If you can, please make an article about Scratch 2.0 mesh. We're doing a special.

I could write one. What do you want an article about?
What kind of mesh/multiplayer features you want to see in Scratch 2.0. Thanks!
Do you want blocks only? Dedicated servers? Other ideas? Thanks so much.
I need a cover saying 'Scratch 2.0' on it. Can someone make that for me? Thanks!

The Moderator Elections
As many of you probably know, there were recently moderator elections in both the regular and TBG Forums.
Community Moderator Elections
The candidates for the Community Mod elections were fullmoon, Wolfie1996, TheSaint, Dazachi, coolstuff, illusionist, juststickman, and demosthenes. The polls opened on May 19, 2010. The elections were announced by Lightnin on May 21, 2010. Many Scratchers (including me) voted for their top picks in the SurveyMonkey survey. The winners were coolstuff, illusionist, Wolfie1996, and Dazachi. They officially started modding on May 27, 2010. They are all doing a great job so far.
TBG Moderator Elections
The Text-Based Games moderator elections were held shortly after the Community Moderator Elections were. A few more users ran than in tyhe Community Mod elections here. The candidates were
WeirdF, DaGamez, waveOSBeta, Survivorduck, soupoftomato, GirWaffles64, Mini_mi, meew0, ScratchGamer417, BulboGrubb, and floatingmagictree. many, if not all, of these users submitted speeches. The winners were Survivorduck and BulboGrubb.
Aidan
Sidenote: tell me if I missed any TBG mods. There wasn't a topic announcing the winners. Weird...

Thanks so much!
Even a maybe is pauseable in the current amount of stress I'm buried in.
