scratch freezing

when im making projects scratch freezes and then i can not turn off the computer

You should always be able to turn of the computer with a power switch.

Anyways, can you give us more details on the freezing? For example, what were doing before it froze?

Hmm... do you know what Operating System you are using (like Windows XP, or something)? Someone might know if it's a bug that happens to that OS in particular  smile

Oh - if it was on the web, and your computer froze, it's probably something wrong with your computer, not Scratch. Webpages can take a while to load if they have Java applets in them, so maybe if you're patient it will unfreeze. Out of curiousity, if your computer is frozen, how did you post this?

Assuming you are, as you said in your above post, on a Mac, try pressing command+alt+escape at the same time... It should open a force quit screen, which allows you to force quit any program.

If it's a huge file you were trying to open, sometimes Scratch can freeze up.
