Scratch in after-school computer labs

Hi, all,

We run an after-school computer program (Jump Start) in public housing in Middletown, Ohio, partnered with Miami University.

My first-blush impressions of Scratch with the K-12 kids in the lab is very positive! Active learning is going on...

Any other after-school programs out there???

Best,

Gary

Re: Scratch in after-school computer labs

Yes, I run an after-school "Tech Club" for Spring Hill Advanced Elementary School.
Some of the students in that group (5th graders last year) are now frequent posters of projects and forum messages.  The Tech Club was free, and we sometimes did other activities than Scratch, but Scratch was what kept the kids coming back.

More info can be found in the weekly newsletters I wrote:

Hi, Kevin,

RE: Projects in your gallery. Your projects look awesome! We'll try them out this week and get back to you. Thanks!
