Game builders

well, we know how great scratch is. There isn't a thing it can't make! But what about those cheesey Game builder programs like 'Game Maker' 'Game Factory' and all that stuff? All they can possible make is games and people call it programming? What do you think of these?

Re: Game builders

Game maker is pretty cool. But I like BYOND the most. Lonwol made a discussion thread on it.

Re: Game builders

1. Scratch CANT do everything. 2. Scratch ISN'T PROGRAMMING It involves no code, unlike game maker which DOES involve code. 3. SCRATCH ITSELF is cheesy. 4. You are VERY IGNORANT.

Scratch can do most things. Scratch is programming, it has code just not the way your used to. Scratch is the farthest from cheesy, unless you are stereotyping us by one type of project. Ignorant, that would be you would it now. *Adds to hypocrite list.

I'm glad to think that the community will always be kind and helpful, the language will always be a fun and easy way to be introduced into programming, the motto will always be: Imagine, Program, Share - Nomolos

Re: Game builders

They're fairly good - if you know what I mean. Scratch is Scratch, Gamemaker is Gamemaker. Never shall the twain meet.

The only problem I see with them is the lack of ease of use (just look at Orange Hamster Republic RPG Construction Engine).
