Hey CannibalChicken, sorry to hear about that.

In the future, however, we ask that you do not publicly post the usernames of Scratcher who you feel are acting inappropriately. It is best to add the person to your ignore list (which can be accessed from your user page) and then Contact the Scratch Teamsmile

You can also flag those comments as inappropriate...that will help the Scratch Team locate them.  Sorry you are having these problems  smile

Re: When flagging a project as inappropriate

I really do not like this.  sad  I think its a bad idea to delete projects, just because some people think it's offensive. The internet is a big thing. If you use it, you're going to have be aware that there will be explicit content on there somewhere. I understand that they're our some people, who are more sensitive to this kind of stuff than others. What we should do instead, is have a search filter. While the filter is on, flagged projects will not come up in search results. While the filter is off, flagged projects are able to come up in search results. This way, scratch users have a decision, whether they can see explicit content or not. I feel that this is very important, so I hope the Scratch team thinks about this.

When you flag a project as inappropriate, you are now asked to type in a reason.

Your reason can be very brief. Even very short explanations can help us in evaluating whether to delete the project.

Your reasons are sent only to the MIT Scratch team, and they will not be viewed by anyone outside the team. In particular, the reasons will not be viewed by the creator of the project.

Please note that projects are automatically deleted when the number of flags passes a certain threshold. This automatic process is useful to prevent inappropriate projects being on the site for long periods of time while the Scratch team is not checking emails (for example, late at night). The Scratch team can later restore an automatically-deleted project if it finds that the project is appropriate for the site.

More work needs to be done on the flagging system, but we believe that this is a step forward.

We would like to thank AngelEyra for implementing this new feature.

Hey, I just flagged a comment that had a bad word in it.

Re: When flagging a project as inappropriate

Scratch rules, and I'm not just saying that: I mean it. It doesn't just rule because I can do more than just videos/animations (I can do games and simulations, too). I also like it because it has very good restrictions on Scratch projects. Thanks to these restrictions, Scratch has become more safe than YouTube. So, as I've said before...Scratch Rules!

But there are kids on here. Parents should be able to trust that there won't be anything inappropriate, as Scratch was meant for kids, so there shouldn't be any extreme violance, bad language, or other inappropriate stuff, regardless of not finding it in search results or something. Kids could still find bad stuff by browsing through projects.

Re: When flagging a project as inappropriate

This topic has GREAT info on knowing how to report projects and comments. I already knew how to flag ever since I joined Scratch in the middle of May. Recently, I flagged a project that had to do with testing gun movements on Scratch. It WAS violent, so I flagged it and it got deleted. Flagging innapropriete projects on Scratch is a GOOD thing.

Well, I have been studying DREAMEATER since 2007 and since his last project: Burgandy, was much less violent than his others, I have assumed he went into theropy. Now, he deleted all of his projects (Most likely due to this) and changed his location to:

DEAD
SLUPPER (Excuse me if this is a bad word, I have never heard it used before)
United Kingdom.

It used to be

Perth
Kinthross
United Kingdom.

He had many projects including:
Mugging,
Lemon Soup (Knives)
The Facts! (Say no to Jam)
and Said the Crane to the Wooden Man.

He is gone now, and that must have helped the scratch community by his leaving. However, only two of his projects ever got flagged, and I feel responsible.

I am so sorry to tell you that I had no idea what flagging was back in '07 '08 times so I couldn't flag his stuff.

Yet again, I am sorry that he didn't leave sooner.

I think slupper (Sincerely  pardon me if it is a swear word) is probably a nonsense word, I think, but I'm not sure. Please don't report me if it's a bad word, cuz hey, I don't know! I'm only a kid! I don't know much!!!!!!

I totally diagree with you, sanddude. It isn't a bad idea to delete projects, because you never know what it could lead to. Parents don't want their kids to see stuff like cussing or pornography on the Internet. We know the Internet is big, but flagging projects prevents innaproprieteness-exposed children and teens. Flagging projects makes Scratch safer and more fun.

Re: When flagging a project as inappropriate

I had to flag someone's remix of my project Take Me Out With More Options! because they didn't change the character to something else. It was okay for someone to beat me to a pulp on my remix, but the person remixed without changing the character. Don't ask who it was who did that.
