weshould be able to put video into projects

think peopleshoulbeable to upload video into projets like avi which is what i use
i dont like having to turn avi into gif to put video in aits hard to do when i cant find a free vi to gif converter

I think it's too much work for the scratch team. You would have to take all the audio and turn it into a sound file, and then turn the movie into frames.

Actually, in a preliminary, unreleased version of Scratch, video import was possible. They removed it because it was pretty complicated for new users.

Why can't they just run the video natively?

Huh... It would be nice to have a video API... With a video player! Now, that would be cool!  smile

Well, for now you could try converting it to a GIF. There are some programs that let you do that, but you'd have to extract the audio... It would take a lot of work, but would be worth it as long as you aren't, say, pirating copyrighted material.
