Yep, PHP is yer answer. Along with a nice dash of MySQL and a pinch of Javascript, you'll have an advanced web page steaming out of the oven in no time!

Advanced?  hmm  I dunno. If you're talking about making one by yourself, I'm out of here. If you mean a website-maker, use Webs or Weebly. For forums, use Freeforums or Pun-BB.

Exactly. PHP and Mysql with a hint of Javascript should do the trick. I can give you a tut if you need.

PHP is probably your best choice, although there's no reason you couldn't use another language. Ruby on Rails, while not supported on all servers, is great for building applications quickly. Ruby is a bit freaky at first but it's fun to code with.
