Input Boxes and other stuff

I see these people doing these things where you input stuff in a box at the bottom. How do you do that? Also, I want to download the newest scratch, but last time I did it, it deleted all of my files. How can I keep my projects and get the newest Scratch? Will a flash drive work? Is 1.4 even the newest version?

Re: Input Boxes and other stuff

1.4 is the newest version - don't worry about that  smile  To get the input box, go to Sensing, and use the "[ask () and wait]" block. To retrieve the answer, use the "(answer)" block - just use it in the same way you would a variable  smile  If you want to keep the answer stored, use "[set [variable v] to (answer)]" from the variables pallet.

Even though you've got the newest version of Scratch, I'll tell you how to download without deleting your projects (on Windows XP).

Go to "My Documents", and copy the folder Scratch Projects. Paste it in another location (anywhere other than "My Documents"). Then, you can download Scratch without losing old projcts  smile

Hope this helps!  big_smile
