Start button costume doesn't work.

That's an image of the title screen.

That's the image of the original start button:

What's wrong? In the original version is a shadow and in the Scratch version is just a black background!

Re: Start button costume doesn't work.

I'm guessing for a drop shadow, you've done that in a different program and exported it into Scratch?  smile

Checking the properties of that image, It's a PNG which I don't think Scratch can fully understand..

Anyway, try saving the start button as a GIF in whatever you used to create it, and then export it into Sratch and it should work  tongue

Scratch 1.4 Reference Guide wrote:

Scratch recognizes many image formats: JPG, BMP, PNG, GIF (including animated GIF).

So I agree with 06dknibbs. I think that's the problem.

Yes, it's a drop shadow, and it's created in gimp.

I tried exporting it as GIF, and look at the result:

A bit better, but still terrible.

Re: Start button costume doesn't work.

The problem is, there's no Alpha channel in Scratch. So it turns anything partly transparent to pure black. So, that's your problem.

Well, since Scratch doesn't support transparency, you could creae a separate drop shadow in Scratch, with the ghost effect and a black box.
