The people I add to my friend list are the people I'm friends with and the people I consider I'm friendly with.

I used to add people who randomly added me, but then I decided that I'd tidy up my friends list. So now, it's just people who are active and I interact with the most smile

People add me to their friends list mainly because I help them or be nice to them or something. I only add people if they have said something nice to me or if they have posted good things in the forums. I'm not doing it for fame, or to have all Scratch on my friends list, but because those people are nice and I respect them. smile

Only people that are my real life friends or have done a lot to make me like and trust them get onto my friends list. It's like an honor if you get onto my friends list, since I have only like 10 or so.

At first I only added people I knew or had interacted with or at least liked to make friends with. In some rare cases meanwhile I added people to get informed about their new projects.

Sometimes I thought it would be nice to have seperate friends and subscribe lists, but I now think that public classifying of people like this is somewhat contradictory to the Scratch idea. And, anyway, I never had problems making friends with very different people. The degree of friendship always depends on details which both parties normally know, and which need not be documented on a website.

I add users that I know in real life(and like), or my 'Scratch Friends'. I don't use it as a suscribe button, unless there is a project I really enjoyed(and got inspired by) from the user. smile
