in Scratch?
Go into the "Sounds" tab and press "Record." Then press the red circle that comes up.

Re: how do you record HELP!

I Went To The Recorder, Pressed The Red Dot Button, And Spoke Into The Speaker Of My Computer, And When I Hit The Play Button, Nothing Came Out But Statick, But I Knew It Had Recorded, Because I Saw The Number Of Secons Counting. That's My $0.02.

You have to have a microphone(mic) in order to record sounds. You can get a mic at your nearest store (Wal*Mart, Target, etc.).

Retired from Scratch, but just the language itself. Not the forums.

Try speaking into the microphone instead of the speaker, assuming you have one. Also, if you're too close it can mess up the microphone... Try staying about 1 foot away from it and then speaking.

Re: how do you record HELP!

If you really were speaking into your microphone, I believe the problem is with the microphone or your computer settings, not Scratch. Try checking your microphone volume settings, go to Control Panel/Sounds and Audio Devices/Volume tab/Advanced/Options/Properties/Mixer device: Audio Input and make sure the recording volume isn't set to mute.

Well, don't worry about it, the Zara siggy will be back soon, new and improved! ^^ Meanwhile, just do what the sig tells you to. >.>
