Advanced Search

I think scratch can be improved greatly by having an advanced search. As we all know the search bar was placed for many reasons. Faster research. A more different way to locate scratchers, projects, forum discussions, and galleries. What is you could say a problem is that the searches that come up aren't exactly full-proof. Accommadating the standards of scratch it is highly simple yet effective in this matter. Say you are searching for a user who's username consists of numbers, underscores, and other symbols. Easily a period can be mistaken for a comma. If scratch had an advanced search I believe scratchers and mit. educators alike could navigate the website better.

Re: Advanced Search

Yes, an advanced search would be nice - however, what kind of things are you looking for in an Advanced Search? You didn't very clearly describe it. Also, I believe that since the search is powered by Google, you might be able to already advance search using some of the advanced searching powers that Google has... You might want to see this page for some of those examples.

Re: Advanced Search

In my mind I think some of the useful characteristics of Google advanced search would be dearly welcome here on scratch. It would be useful to be able to pry back in to Scratch's beginnings. What an advanced search could do is limit hundreds into twenties. Everytime we search for something that isn't emphasized  we get the results of people, comments, and projects.

Oh, I see what you mean - you want the search to be able to search for comments, projects, users, posts, etc. instead of blatant pages. It's not optimised for this website, you mean?

Now you get my point.
