Songs I've downloaded won't show!

Hi

I wnated to do a good first project so I downloaded a couple of songs for it, and saved them in my music folder. When I tried to import them to Scratch I went to music and I couldn't find them anywhere! Am I doing anything wrong?

Please help!

You'll have to convert it to a different file format - which file format is the file you have?

This seems more fit to be in Troubleshooting, so I guess I'll move it there  smile

Download RealPlayer and use that to convert it. Or use Audacity.

Your music file is a format that Scratch can't read. You will have to convert it to a different format... I usually use Audacity for stuff like that, you can download it here. Once you've got it installed, open your music file in it, then go to File/Export as MP3 and save, preferably with a different name so you can see which file is which. Now try importing the newly saved file into Scratch - it should work.  smile

Re: Songs I've downloaded won't show!

OK I tried that and now it's saying:

"Audicity does not export MP3 files directly, but instead uses the freely available LAME library to handle MP3 file encoding. You must obtain lame_enc.dll seperately, by downloading the LAME MP3 encoder, and the locate this file for Audicity. You only need to do this once.

Would you like to locate lame_enc.dll now?"

When I click yes - Languagesn, Nyquist and Plug-ins. Each them are not helpful so please tell me what to do???

You could also use Zamzar (link to site), a free online conversion tool that sends the converted file to your e-mail. If you use Audacity, you should be able to convert to a .WAV file which works in scratch.

If that pops up you can use "Export to wav" instead.  wink

Hmm...do you mean you can't find your song? You can just save it to a different place where it would be easier to find... like the Desktop.
