it took a little while for me to figure this one out, but I'm guessing you ripped an image of some water off the net and put a layer over it that used a blend of transparent to red (L to R)

if this is true I'll just suggest that you make your images from nothing, using something else in an image doesn't exactly mean you made it, you made a portion of the image, but not the entire image

How did you make that crinkle? 

I could/won't (n)ever be able to use GIMP DX
But It's ok-ish if you can actually figure out how to use it without accidentally erasing half your picture
