Looks to me like CDG's and MRN's posts say it all - and very eloquently. I've very little to add.

CDG? That's a new nickname for me to remember  tongue .

Another option, although harsher, is to revoke candidacy for candidates getting into serious fighting (hopefully you won't need to resort to something like that).

O.o I wouldn't do that whatever the circumstances... if a person is being flamy, the Scratch Team simply does not choose them, pretty simple... but removing them from the elections like that publicly is too humiliating in my opinion. D:

http://i52.tinypic.com/5es7t0.png I know what you're thinking! "Neptune! Get rid of those filthy advertisements and give us back the Zarathustra siggy, you horrible person!" Well, don't worry about it, the Zara siggy will be back soon, new and improved! ^^ Meanwhile, just do what the sig tells you to. >.>

Maybe it is. But at the same time, letting in a candidate in the official list despite recent occasions of bad behavior also says that it's acceptable for a candidate to have borderline behavior.  sad

Re: Moderators, I need help...

Yep, there's a tension between those two options. That's one reason why I think moderation is more art than science. There's no "How to moderate handbook" that can tell you what to do in every situation.

In this case, you don't want to call someone out publicly if you can avoid it - that just makes them defensive and hostile, and makes other community members scared the same might happen to them. But you don't want to allow someone who is ready to flame others to get their way to hold a position of authority. Once community members see that whoever flames the loudest wins, you are bound to get more flames.

So why is there no easy answer? Because there is no easy answer. This is real life.

Hey RocketTheCat5,
Unfortunately, Sonic getting hurt isn't something we can delete projects for, unless there is excessive blood or violence. Also, try not to post irrelevant information in topics - you can try making your own topic next time.
Thanks!
