Closing Forum Topics

When should we ask for topics to get closed? I know topics get closed when topics get out of hand, but when else is it useful to close topics?
-When a topic is resolved?
-When a topic is out of date?
-When a topic is resolved, but is getting off topic?
...
Thanks a lot!  wink

Re: Closing Forum Topics

I'm pretty sure it's when the topic is out of date, or when it's resolved and getting off topic. Take it from a forum moderator (who knows very little about what he's doing, but is getting there!)

Re: Closing Forum Topics

I looked it up in the super-handy forum moderator handbook, which I refer to every minute, and here's what I discovered:

If a thread is no longer serving a useful role in the Scratch community, it should be considered for closing. If the thread veers off topic, is no longer relevant (for example, discussing a bug that has been fixed), serves as a chatroom, or contains aggressive interaction such as users attacking eachother, it should be considered for closing. And no, that's not copy & paste  smile

Great information, sounds like they gave you a little handbook to work with! Nice!  big_smile

Re: Closing Forum Topics

Hey coka! Aside from the above, thread owners could request for their own topics to be closed via reporting their own topic.  smile

Re: Closing Forum Topics

Thanks a lot!  wink  I knew pretty much what should get closed or not, but I just wanted to see what a moderator's outlook is on closing topics. Thanks to all of you!
