Actually, all of the moderators (old and new) have new, exciting titles as "Community Moderators," which is odd considering we have absolutely no power over the main site.

Hmm... maybe you were only intended report users, and flag comments/projects that go against the Terms Of Use on the main site, and not suppose to remove them.

I asked them, and they said we wouldn't assume power on the main site until around August/September, which is reasonably close to when the term ends.

Whats the difference?
Community Mods moderate the whole site and not just the forums.
No, they just changed the title "Forum Mod" to "Community Mod", and it doesn't sound as pretty. D:
You're right though, they're planning to give mods powers on the main site as well.

Whenever you get old enough and leave scratch, be sure to do this, Make a remark or saying on how posting in scratch is to (blank) and then anyone who posts on that thread gets banned.
I'm only serious about this if you think i'm serious.

You'll be able to send messages and such?
Does this apply to the TBG as well?

There can only be one Mod class at a time
Since this is punbb they can't make a new group based off moderators

Forum moderators and Community moderators do exactly the same thing, except community moderators can lose their position over time. MyRedNeptune is still considered a forum moderator, except her title has changed, so really there's no demotion

The Scratch Team hasn't said anything on part of what kind of powers we will have on ScratchR yet... only that it won't be soon. ^^

Now, about the topic title. Good thing he didn't say "assumed their postions"
That would've been bad, eh?
